What We Believe About Divine HEALING
Divine healing is a core part of the gospel message and the redemptive work of Jesus Christ.
Scripture is clear that healing was an integral part of Jesus' earthly ministry, and that He bore our sicknesses and diseases on the cross so that we could walk in divine health and wholeness. The prophet Isaiah foretold that "by His stripes we are healed" (Isaiah 53:5), and the apostle Peter reaffirmed this truth, stating that "by His wounds you have been healed" (1 Peter 2:24). Jesus Himself declared that the reason He came was to "preach the gospel to the poor...to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed" (Luke 4:18). Healing and deliverance were central to Jesus' mission and ministry.
We believe that the same power that raised Jesus from the dead now dwells within every believer through the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:11).
This resurrection power is not just for the forgiveness of sins, but for the restoration of our physical bodies as well. Just as Jesus healed the sick, cast out demons, and raised the dead during His earthly ministry, we believe that believers today can operate in that same anointing and authority to see the miraculous manifested in our lives and in the lives of those around us. Divine healing is part of the atonement - it is a purchased benefit that belongs to every child of God. We are not passive recipients, but rather active participants in appropriating our healing through faith. As we renew our minds to the truth of God's Word, believe with our hearts, and speak words of faith, we position ourselves to see the manifestation of our healing in the physical realm. At the same time, we recognize that the full restoration of our bodies awaits the return of Christ and the redemption of our mortal frames. Until then, we walk by faith, not by sight, trusting that God's grace is sufficient for us and that His power is perfected in our weakness.
We encourage one another to stand firm on the promises of God, to offer sacrifices of praise, and to boldly declare our healing in the face of any opposing symptoms or medical reports. Ultimately, our faith is not in a formula or a method, but in a Person - Jesus Christ, the Great Physician. As we abide in Him and allow His life to flow through us, we will see the miraculous become increasingly normal in our lives and in our church.
Divine healing is part of our birthright as sons and daughters of the Most High God, and we are determined to walk in the fullness of our inheritance in Christ.
